ARTIST STATEMENT:  

Abstract art is my passion.  Bold colours and dynamic design describe my work.   Red, white and black are the dominant colours in my personal palette but I equally enjoy working with other vibrant colour combinations.   Black and white represent an endless combination of polar opposites such as ying & yang, bold and reserved, good & evil, right & wrong, all or nothing.  Red is the mediator of these polar opposites and provides the essence of passion, emotion, authority, confidence, warnmth, energy and connection.

I use the abstract to raise questions, to invite the viewer to reflect - to make a connection.     For me, asking the right question is far more important than searching for the "right"  answer to an irrelevant one.   Everyday occurrences, sometimes a single word, are the sources of my inspiration. 

My creative process is intuitive - a journey to discover what the final creation will look like.   It rarely starts with the end in mind.   I'm particularly interested in the texture of the painted surface and encourage the viewer to touch my work and feel its energy.   Pushing boundaries is a constant in my artwork by experimenting with new techniques to create unique texture.  

 DEMARCHE ARTISTIQUE:

L'art abstrait est ma passion.  Les couleurs audacieuses et une conception dynamique caracterisent mes oeuvres.  Le rouge, le noir et le blanc dominent ma palette personelle mais j'aime egalement travailler avec d'autres combinaisons de couleurs vibrantes.  Le noir et le blanc representent une combinaison infinie de contraires polaires tels que le ying & le yang, l'audacieux & le reserve, le bien & le mal, tout ou rien.  Le rouge est le mediateur de ces contraires polaires et il fournit l'essence de la passion, de l'emotion, de l'autorite, de la chaleur, de l'energie, et des liens.

J'utilise le style abstrait pour poser des questions, inviter le spectateur a reflechir - a faire des liens.  Pour moi, il est plus important de poser la bonne question que de trouver la bonne reponse a une question de peu d'importance.   Mon souffle createur est influence par les evenements du quotidien et quelquefois par un seul mot.

Mon processus creatif est intuitif - un voyage pour decourvrir l'aboutissement de mon oeuvre.   Il commence rarement avec une fin predeterminee.  Je m'interesse particulierement a la texture de la surface et encourage le spectateur a toucher mon travail et a sentir son energie.  Pousser les limites est une constante dans mes tableaux - j'experimente avec de nouvelles techniques pour creer des textures uniques.
